Forth Seabird Group - Our Islands - Inchmickery

Inchmickery is a small island which lies a short distance off the Lothian coast at Cramond. It is almost completely covered in ruined wartime buildings which are said to make the island look like a battle ship from the distance.

This island used to be home to large numbers of terns. Sadly it is many years since they bred here. Today fulmars, shags eiders and gulls breed here.

Inchmickery from the south west Cow and Calves is a small group of rocks which protrude from the sea just north on Inchmickery
